We are wire buyers in California for usable surplus electrical cable and scrap copper wire, with pickup anywhere in the state. Photos and location details help us plan each collection before a truck is assigned.

California wire buyers with one statewide base

Our base is 9743 58th St, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509, in the Inland Empire. We buy new full reels, unused partial reels, overstock and leftover job wire. We also purchase used, insulated, stripped and bare scrap copper wire.

We do not buy outside California. Our California wire buying overview explains the two buying categories; this page helps you identify the right regional coverage and transport questions. A California job with material stored elsewhere needs a clear discussion of where the actual lot is located.

An unused reel deserves a product review before anyone treats it as scrap. Continuous footage, original identification and storage condition can preserve value beyond recoverable metal. Short pulled-out pieces require a different evaluation, even if they came from the same project as untouched inventory.

Seven regional pages for local pickup planning

Choose the page for the material's storage address, rather than your company's billing office. Each page covers local sources of wire and the access details that can affect collection.

Region Regional information Useful distinction to report
Los Angeles County Los Angeles wire buyers Building-wire remnants versus flexible production-power cable
San Diego County San Diego wire buyers Lab cable, marine stock and solar material kept identifiable
Orange County Orange County wire buyers Residential leftovers, manufacturing cable and distributor stock
Inland Empire Inland Empire wire buyers Yard inventory, large feeders and appointment delivery questions
Bay Area Bay Area wire buyers Power, network and fiber reels listed by exact specification
Sacramento region Sacramento wire buyers Public-facility ownership documents and commercial surplus
Central Valley Central Valley wire buyers Renewable-energy, plant and agricultural cable descriptions

These regional pages are planning guides, not boundaries on our California service. A shop between regions can send its city and ZIP code without deciding which page fits best. If stock occupies several yards, identify each address separately.

Coverage beyond the seven named regions

We also pick up in the Central Coast, North Coast, High Desert, Imperial Valley, Coachella Valley and Northern Sacramento Valley. You do not need a dedicated city page to offer material from those areas. Name the nearest community and describe the actual loading entrance.

For rural storage, include the final approach rather than only a highway exit. Report narrow gates, unpaved sections, restricted turning space or seasonal access issues if they affect your site. These are questions about your particular property, not assumptions about every seller in a region.

Island or otherwise unusual access needs a specific transport discussion. Statewide coverage does not establish a standard vehicle, freight charge or collection window for every location. We confirm the practical arrangement after reviewing the inventory and access information.

Distance, lot size and consolidation affect the trip

A long-distance pickup makes accurate inventory especially important. Ten clearly identified reels can require a different vehicle from ten reels with unknown gross weights. Conductor metal, reel dimensions and loading equipment matter alongside total footage.

Consolidating stock may reduce separate stops, but do not move it before checking ownership and handling requirements. Tell us if several authorized lots could be gathered at one accessible yard. We can discuss combining pickups or coordinating freight where that suits the material and schedule.

A small lot is not automatically ruled out by its size. Send the description rather than assuming a minimum we have not stated. Equally, a full truckload does not establish an immediate collection date; equipment availability and the receiving plan still need confirmation.

We issue offers in writing before pickup. Payment method and timing are also confirmed in writing beforehand. Freight, loading responsibilities and any seller-arranged delivery should be settled as part of that discussion, not left for the driver to resolve.

California construction context without rating shortcuts

Solar, battery storage, data-center and EV charging projects can leave unused cable after design changes or overbuying. Our solar-project surplus information covers array and collection-system leftovers. The data-center cable page addresses power and communications inventory from that sector.

An EV project can leave ordinary THHN/THWN-2 or XHHW-2 supply conductors, not just purpose-built vehicle charging cord. Record the actual jacket legend instead of grouping everything as charging cable. Project type alone does not identify a cable's listing or voltage.

The 2025 California Building Standards Code became effective January 1, 2026. Its Electrical Code is Title 24, Part 3, based on the 2023 NEC with California amendments, as the California edition publisher explains. Buyers and end users must verify suitability for their intended application; a surplus purchase is not an installation approval.

California scrap transactions also involve seller, material and ownership records, plus applicable nonferrous payment rules. We follow those requirements rather than promising a payment speed based on distance. This is a general legal summary, not legal advice.

What to send for a statewide offer and freight review

Start with enough information to identify the material without transporting it. A clear location-based inventory lets us evaluate useful reels separately from scrap and match the proposed collection to the real load.

  • Give the California storage city, ZIP code and number of separate pickup addresses.
  • Photograph each product family with its original tags and readable jacket markings.
  • List full and partial reels separately, with footage evidence and any rewound lengths identified.
  • Distinguish copper from aluminum and keep scrap quantities separate from reusable inventory.
  • Supply gross weights where documented, plus reel diameter and overall width for large packages.
  • Show the truck approach, loading surface and available forklift or other handling equipment.
  • State the removal deadline, site contact and whether a combined collection point is possible.
  • Explain who owns the stock and flag utility, agency or returnable-reel markings before arranging transport.

Do not cut a continuous reel merely to make the first description easier. Retain labels and existing end protection, and identify uncertain measurements as estimates. Those details help avoid planning a statewide trip around the wrong product or shipping weight.

Common questions

Does a remote California location rule out a wire pickup?

No. We pick up throughout California, including locations outside the seven regions listed below. A remote address does change the planning questions: road access, available loading equipment, total shipping weight and the removal deadline. Send those details with the material photos. We can discuss a dedicated trip, combining collection with other scheduled work or freight arrangements without promising a date before reviewing the lot.

Can several California branches submit one inventory list?

Yes. Separate each branch into its own location group, even when several branches hold the same product number. Show reel counts, remaining lengths and loading contacts for every address. Tell us whether stock can be brought to one authorized collection point. We will review the material and transport requirements together; a combined list does not automatically mean all locations receive the same pickup date.

Do I have to deliver the wire to you?

No. Pickup is how we collect wire, anywhere in California. Call (951) 903-9804 before moving any material yourself. Before a truck is dispatched, confirm the material description, written offer, paperwork and unloading arrangements with us. Do not assume an unscheduled load can be received or that delivery changes the payment terms already agreed in writing.
