Our wire buyers serving Orange County, California, purchase unused electrical cable and scrap copper from contractors, distributors and facilities. We review both full reels and partial stock, including residential leftovers and specialized manufacturing cable. If you are comparing copper wire buyers or surplus wire buyers in Orange County, send the actual labels rather than only a total weight.

Orange County wire buyers look beyond a mixed-lot weight

A distributor remnant, an unopened residential coil and a used motor lead do not have the same reuse prospects. We separate reusable product value from metal-recovery value when reviewing your description. Size, construction, traceable footage and condition matter more than the general phrase electrical surplus.

Leave unused cable packaged and distinguish pulled-out copper in your list. Identifiable reels do not need stripping or cutting for review.

Pickup is available across the county. The California service-area page covers our wider reach. Confirm the loading address and proposed pickup schedule with us.

Irvine, Tustin and Lake Forest manufacturing inventory

Irvine has medical-device manufacturing and research operations, documented in the City's medical technology industry announcement. Lake Forest's official industry information also identifies healthcare and medical manufacturing. Tustin has instrumentation manufacturing operations as well.

Equipment changes can leave control, instrumentation and VFD cable. Even small-conductor storeroom spares may retain product value when precisely identified.

For control and instrumentation cable, photograph part numbers and record pairs, triads or individual conductor count. An overall shield is different from individually shielded pairs. PLTC, ITC, TC and AWM markings also describe different product categories.

VFD cable deserves its own inventory line showing voltage, phase and ground arrangement, and shielding. Do not combine it with generic shielded controls under a single footage total. Thermocouple extension stock may contain alloy conductors and should not be described as ordinary copper cable.

Residential closeouts: coils, service cable and URD

Orange County residential work includes planned communities, tract construction and multifamily projects. Leftovers can include 250 ft contractor coils, opened boxes and feeder remnants. Record what is present now; an original package length is not a measurement of remaining stock.

Romex-brand NM-B is one familiar residential product, but NM-B is the generic cable type. Our NM-B and UF-B buying page distinguishes unopened coils from previously installed material. Photograph 12/2, 12/3 or 10/2 markings instead of relying on sheath color alone.

Keep SER and SEU service cable separate from underground distribution stock. A gray jacket does not prove a cable is suitable for underground use. For SER, show every conductor size and the CU or AL designation, not just the largest number.

With URD cable, record all phase and neutral sizes, voltage and any utility identification. Contractor-owned surplus needs a clear ownership trail. Utility markings call for an authorization review; being left at a housing job does not establish that a contractor can sell it.

Residential item Useful offer description Avoid this shortcut
NM-B coil Size/count, ground, manufacturer and remaining length Describing size from jacket color only
SER remnant Complete size string, metal and continuous footage Calling every gray feeder underground cable
Secondary URD reel Phase/neutral sizes, voltage and ownership documents Treating utility stock as ordinary job leftovers
Removed branch wire Insulated scrap type and separate quantity Mixing it into unopened coil inventory

Anaheim commercial work and distributor overstock

Anaheim's visitor economy supports hotel, retail and venue activity, while Anaheim Canyon has an established industrial base. The City's economic development plan describes those distinct settings. Renovations can leave building wire and control stock that should be identified separately from temporary event leads.

For hospitality or retail tenant work, tell us whether material remains inside an occupied property or has moved to a contractor's shop. A venue move-out lot can have a narrow removal deadline. Show bulk reel stock separately from used cable assemblies and cut copper.

Distribution centers and electrical supply branches may offer returns, discontinued colors and slow-moving stock. Our distributor overstock information covers SKU inventories and cut-reel remnants. Record each return as unused, opened, rewound or damaged.

Reel ownership also matters. Steel or other returnable packages may belong to a supplier and carry a deposit obligation. Explain that status before including the packaging in an inventory sale.

Business-park rules belong in the loading plan

Ask your property manager or business-park association about truck access, permitted collection periods and staging restrictions. If an HOA controls common areas, obtain its requirements rather than assuming a tenant's parking spaces can hold a loading vehicle. These rules are property-specific, not uniform across Orange County.

Provide the service entrance and any gate code through an appropriate direct contact. Show loading-dock height, ground-level access, turning space and the equipment available to handle heavy reels. A pallet jack alone should not be described as a complete loading plan for an unidentified reel weight.

Travel time varies with the destination and traffic. An Anaheim warehouse and a San Clemente property need separate schedule reviews. We agree the collection arrangement before dispatch rather than promising a fixed journey time throughout the county.

What an Orange County offer request should include

Send an inventory-based offer request with package IDs that your warehouse team can match to the physical stock.

  • Provide manufacturer SKUs and reel IDs for controls or instrumentation inventory.
  • Include shield descriptions and complete specifications for specialty manufacturing cable.
  • Photograph residential coil labels, including conductor count and ground notation.
  • List SER and URD configurations separately, showing metal and all conductor sizes.
  • Give each distributor remnant its own footage entry and condition description.
  • Identify the property manager's loading rules, dock contact and approved staging area.
  • Flag supplier-owned reels, utility markings and any material awaiting an ownership release.
  • State which Orange County address holds each part of a multi-branch lot.

Scrap copper paperwork and local utility context

We buy insulated, bare and stripped scrap copper as well as unused cable. California rules require transaction and ownership records, with identification, material photos and thumbprints where applicable. Payment rules have transaction-specific exceptions, so we confirm the applicable method and timing in writing before pickup.

SCE and Anaheim Public Utilities are part of the county's electrical-service context, not claimed customers or partners. We do not buy their property or other agency material without proper authorization. Our California wire-selling legal summary explains the documentation distinctions; this page is informational, not legal advice.

Cities covered and stock held at more than one address

We pick up in Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, Fullerton, Orange and Garden Grove. Coverage also includes Tustin, Buena Park, Brea, Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and San Clemente.

If one project has coils at a field office and feeders in a distribution warehouse, list both addresses. Tell us whether either location has a lease-end or project-clearance deadline. Do not transfer inventory between properties until ownership, handling and the proposed collection arrangement are settled.

Common questions

Can an Irvine facility sell several different control-cable remnants?

We will review a mixed inventory, but each part number needs its own line. Include the remaining continuous length, conductor or pair count, AWG, voltage and shielding details. Similar-looking instrumentation and motor-drive products can have very different constructions. Keep original specifications with the reels, and identify cut or rewound lengths. A facility's original purchase cost alone does not establish current reusable value.

How should an Orange County distributor list cut-reel stock?

Use one row per reel with the branch location, SKU, product description, color, remaining footage and reel ID. Mark estimates clearly and show whether a reel contains one continuous remnant or several pieces. Identify returns separately from untouched overstock, and flag returnable packages or deposit obligations. Photos should match the listed reel IDs so a warehouse team can locate the exact stock being offered.

Can pickup fit an Anaheim venue's move-out window?

Tell us the approved collection period before selecting a date. We need the lot description, loading entrance, staging location and the person authorized to release the cable. If other contractors or event trucks share the dock, identify the property's reservation procedure. We can discuss the available arrangement after reviewing those details, but a venue deadline does not establish a guaranteed collection slot.
